To begin, find a comfortable, quiet space and sit with your back straight. Close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath, noticing the sensation of the air entering and leaving your body. When your mind wanders – because it will – gently bring your focus back to your breath without criticism.

This practice can also be extended to other sensory experiences, like sounds, sights, or bodily sensations, helping you stay anchored in the present. The essence of mindfulness is being fully aware of the “here and now,” observing experiences with curiosity rather than reacting automatically.

Regular mindfulness meditation can help reduce stress, enhance emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, fostering a more profound sense of calm and clarity. It’s not about achieving a particular state but learning to be with what it is.
